I have a 1999 murcury grand marquis

Asked by Robert Feb 02, 2015 at 05:33 PM about the 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis 4 Dr LS Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

OK my car started over heating so I replaced the thermostat  the water pump hoses and
all to find out that wasn't the problem until I check the oil and it was bone dry so I put oil
in it the car was running fine and my heat started to blow cold air and the car started
running hot again the oil was gone again can u tell me what's wrong please

sounds like the head gaskets are deteriorated

Sounds to it might be time for new motor. If you are going through oil that fast it's either leaking out somewhere or it's burning it if it's burning it you should be getting a LOT of smoke out the exhaust tailpipe and you didn't mention if it was smoking or not. NOT good running a engine without oil.
