tranny type

1992 tc has 2 tranny types , a kick down cable type and electronic type , how do i know which i have?

If theres a cable from the throttle body to the trans, it a kickdown type. If not, its electronic.

what i was looking for was are there ways from say the vin to tell ., i need to buy a used tranny on line and want to make sue i buy the right one . someone else is doing the work and i know little about cars . he says its electronic but i want to be sure , can i run the vin online somehow and find out? thanks , allan
