Question type: General

The code reader says it misfires  on  1, 2, and  8? Is it my computer  or  would it
be my timing?

We changed the plugs only. It has coil packs so there are no wires or distributor cap

No cap, no rotor, no wires, no coil packs..If it is a 1997 lincoln mark VIII this vehicles uses a coil on plug (COP) ignition design. The individual coils one on each plug fail after time..Clear the codes on the EECIV computer with a low cost code reader. Confirm the missing has stopped. Don't guess.

If still an issue after replacing coil over plug paks, replace ECM/PCM/BCM MODULE. Ignition firing for '96 on models are fired and controlled solely through the ECM/PCM/BCM MODULE.
