gauge shows overheating yet radiator and fluids are cool!!

my 05 grand Cherokee overheats and there's an odor,yet the radiator is cool!!
Anyone has any ideas about this? I changed some sensors,it didn't help. Thank
you

Could be a stuck thermostat, bad water pump or an air pocket in the cooling sytem.
