Glovebox on 1996 jeep grand cherokee laredo

I accidentally locked my 1996 jeep
grand Cherokee laredo's glovebox. It is
now stuck open. It wont close. Im using
tape to keep it kinda closed. I have to
use tape to keep the light off. How do I
unlock it so I can close it .

While pulling on the latch release, take a screwdriver and flip open the locking hasp on the inside part of the latch. You'll see it sort of open up to receive the other half the latch. That's what it does when the glove box opens normally. Tinker with it and you will figure it out.
