RE: 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
Jeep service department cannot fix O/D Off light staying on all the time.  We're out several thousands of dollars adding new parts that won't fix the problem.  The vehicle will not shift higher than 3rd gear, even at 70 mph.  Do you have a solution?

Yes, however the light should turn off (meaning overdrive is engaged) after startup, and that's usually before shifting occurs. Allowing the jeep to warmup, driving it for about ten minutes, or turning it off and on does nothing to help this problem. We've had a new command module, cellinoids (sp), wiring harness, etc. installed to no avail. I'm really hopeful at the end of this process there is a logical explanaton, as we were told it may be caused by false readings that will require extensive work to locate.
