Check your Inertia Safety Switch. It's on the Passenger Side, you may have to pull the side Wall Panel off to get to it. There's a Little red Button on Top, it should be down. Also check your Plug, and Dip Stick for Anti Freeze. Had a problem like yours. Changed everything, only to find out I had a Crack in the Head! Spent lots of Money for parts that didn't need to be changed. If it is the Head Autozone has a Great price on Ranger Heads, w/ 1 year Warranty. Plus extra parts included to do the job. Rockauto.com has a Top, amd Bottom Gasket Kit real cheap.

usually, if the inertia switch goes, you got nuthin. it shuts off both spark and power to the fuel pump.

There are also problems with the Coil Packs on Rangers. Pull a Spark Plug. Have a Helper turn the Key, and check for Spark. While the Plug is out check it for signs of Anti Freeze, or Oil.

Mike; Why have my Rear Night Running Lights gone out? New Bulbs, Fuses, Relays, check & cleaned all connections & Harness! Rear Blinkers, Brake, and Flashers work, but no night running lights. The Front Running Night Lights work, but not the Rear, WHY?
