05 caravan connecting rod oil feed hole
I'm working on a 05 dodge grand caravan that has
the 3.8 v6, had two rod bearings go bad , I was
able to get the journals round and polished, I'm
replacing all bearings , but I noticed that the two
rods that were on the bearing that went bad seem
to have the oil hole stopped up. I want to know if
the hole on these rods are just a squirting hole for
the cylinder or if there is another hole that
intersects it and feeds oil to the piston wrist pin? I
tried feeling for an intersecting hole with some
mechanics wire on some of the good rods but did
not feel any. Does this model engine rely on splash
to lubricate the piston pin?
