why is my 2002 ford explorer shutting off while in motion

ill be driving down the road and all of a sudden my vehicle will throttle down and shut off. you can try to restart again and the motor will turn over it just wont fire unless i hold the fuel reset button down for a second and turn it over while holding the button down!!! also my interior lights and door ajar button come on by thereselves while the vehicle is moving and the car alarm will go off by itself!!! can someone please help me and give me some idea of what to do??? thanks

It does sound like your fuel reset button is bad. You can check it by removing the switch and using a jumper between the wires. If the vehicle starts and runs, the switch is bad. As for the haunted lights and door ajar problem, obviously a faulty electrical connection (hopefully) where vibration from the road is causing the problem. Circuit trace work is in order here.
