Expedition wont start

Asked by Polo81 Jan 27, 2019 at 12:48 PM about the 2006 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 ford expedition that will not
start up. It will not crank at all but my dash
lights come on. Just had the starter replace
and i bought a new battery. I also bought a
relay fuse for the starter but still nothing. I
dont think its a pats issue because the theft
light is flashing normally and i can remote
lock/unlock the truck. Im now thinking it
might be in the ignition. I need some help.
Truck been down 3 wks and it was working
just fine befor i got the new starter.

Battery has a full charge and connections all good? Note the diagram. Note the two fuses, also use a testlight and check voltage at fuses. Also, note the tranny range sensor. See the starter relay, with relay unplugged you might be able to jumper wire on side side of relay, that line with arrowhead is switch side. The starter motor should crank the engine, if good voltage and ground. If you try that make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. I did look at your security system, that is starter motor disable, it also disables the fuel injectors and other than the initial prime it may disable the fuel pump. Engine cranking do you have fuel injector pulse? Any applicable trouble codes?

Check your grounds and cable connections. Expeditions are notorious for having corroded grounds and cable connectors. Disconnect your battery and wait 5 minutes and see if it starts up. (This resets the BCM). if it starts up- you may have a bad BCM (Another known ford issue)
