how to fix 93 ford explorer xlt from dieing after start and no rpm over2000

My 93 ford explorer xlt dies after good start then does not accelerate real hard jerking it takes like 1min to accelerate the rpm just stop and start over it hits 2000 then goes to zero even though pedal is floored
