Check with GM. I did and every Pickup like yours seemed to be rated higher but you need to check yourself.

your truck will tow 17000 lbs. with proper hitch and trailer brakes- that is the TOTAL weight of trailer, stuff inside, etc.- remember pin weight is payload in the box, so you can only put about 300 more lbs. in the box too. I hope this helps.

Richard is "spot-on" and If I were you. I would add air suspension bladders to the rear axle to aid in supporting the pin weight which is going to cause alot of torque twist on you truck bed when making turns in unlevel scenarios.
