Ive got a 2005 chevrolet silverado I have the 4.3L v6 long bed work truck I was wondering if I wanted to swap out for a 5.3L engine would I have to swap my transmission as well?

There's a lot more than just the transmission and motor here to consider. On less you really know what you are doing, just sell your truck and buy the V8 truck that you want.

I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 5.3. Truck idles good when in park but when I put it into gear the check engine light comes on. P0307, witch is Cylinder 7 misfiring. Ive changed all the lifters,coils,injectors and solnoids. Plugs and wires as well.
