well either the gears wont shift, due to anything from transmission malfunction, vacuum leak, or sc, super charger???? check engine light? any other issues before it happened? Any sensor can prevent it as well, so go to napa/advanced/chain auto store for a free diagnosis where they scan the codes of the computer to narrow down possibilities, dont buy anything then, unless there is a single specific sensor, i am thinking map/maf...

Without actually driving the car or not knowing the condition or mileage on the car or the car's history., Here's my guess. I think it could be your catalytic convertor is plugged up. This can happen after 160K miles as they actually wearout after that and usually only last for that many miles..My neighbor had a Chevy Blazer with 165K miles on it that all of a sudden wouldn't go over 35 mph. I suggested that it was the convertor that was plugged up, so he went to Midas muffler shop and they agreed with my suggestion. They changed out the convertor for a new one and that fixed the problem instantly. If it starts to shake and shimmy right before 35 mph, then it's probably the convertor. If it runs ok but just won't go over 35, then maybe it's the transmission but it sounds to me like something is just plugged up. Kenny/MrBlueOval
