Y exhaust with catalytic converter

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I cant get the catalytic converter portion of the pipe out
through the bottom of the car, is there another way? The
converter is slightly larger than the area to remove. There's
a bar in the way. I disconnected the ends of the bar and
rotated it, still not enough room to pull out.

It's on jack stands, the problem isn't clearance from the ground, it's the hole it has to fit through.

Did you ever figure this out I am in the same. Boat right now. I've got a 04 malibu V6. Had multiple leaks throughout my exhaust system so I started removing it so I could replace all of it. Now I am stuck, with the front cat removed and every bolt removed and the O2 sensor on the rear car removed.

It's been so long I'm not sure that I completely remember. I'm not an experienced Mechanic by any stretch. But anyways, there's a bar that goes across that I believe I ended up disconnecting the pieces holding it to the car. After that I think I also disconnected the tie rods so that the bar would have more movement. Then, if I remember correctly, I had to twist the exhaust to get that portion past the bar. It wasn't too bad, just a lot of extra work.
