Question type: Maintenance & Repair
2500 Chevy Express Van. In the mornings when I start out I turn the AC on. It
cools, cycles & fan works normally. About 20min in the AC stops blowing cool
air for the rest of the day. Next morning it's like the movie Groundhog Day. The
same thing happens. It started bout 2 weeks ago. Any info Please!!!

Low on freon cycling rapidly is an indication of low freon have system checked for leaks and have the repairs made most common is service ports dust an dirt in Port valves cause most of the leaks. Condensor is the other source pin holes are often from objects hitting condensor or corrosion is the other
Not fast cycle, absolute normal cycling. Good cold air when she's blowing
Ok then is any part of system freezing up could be an orifice tube clogged or recover dryer may have internal failure may have to change price tube / filter
we have replaced pretty much everything in the system and we still have an intermittent loss of cold air.
check the relay in the fuse box onside the engine
Seem no had completely answered Marks question. Did he in fact get the intermittent problem fixed!!
Its a common problem w all chevys . When ur driving and air is blowing cold . Then it just starts blowing warm or hot . Pull over shut the truck off . Wait 5 seconds start truck up then ur air should blow cold again . If this is the case and i kno it is. Under the dash about were your right knee is . Theres a box it changes your air from cold to hot .turning truck off then back on will reset it . Your welcome kp.
Turning the van off and back on 5 seconds later has not been working for Me!

If the frosting includes the suction line back to the compressor - it isn't a lack of cooling, refrigerant, or bad orifice - it is failure to disengage the compressor. A control which would normally cycle the compressor is failed-closed. What I do Not know is if this control is Only the low pressure control - or if there is also a temperature sensor to prevent freezing of the evaporator.
