Does CarGurus offer a service where the buyer pays the service and the service pays the seller? I am the seller, how can I avoid being scammed with phony checks, etc.?

Email Cargurus Customer Service with your question. They're better equipped to answer you. But I will say this, never release a vehicle or the title until the check clears your bank. Create two agreement of sale and two receipt documents. One copy for you and the other for the buyer. You will both sign and date all copies. Ask to take a picture of their driver's license as well to confirm they are who they say they are. If this is a cash sale receipt documents are all that's needed. If your buyer balks, then no deal, especially if it's a large amount and they're paying by check. Also, never, EVER, agree to a direct deposit to your bank account of ANY kind!! Cash or certified check only and don't fill out anything on the title until you're ready to release the vehicle. Don't give them any keys either until the vehicle is being released! Hope that helps!
