How do I open the trunk of a Mercedes SL?

I want to charge the battery which is in the trunk.  How do I open the trunk?  Seems I
cannot open it with the car key.

Use the security key inside the key fob. There is a spot on the underside of the lip of the trunk. Make sure not to push in when turning the key. Turn the key fully, push in the tab where the key goes then pull up on the trunk

Battery dead, trunk won't open even this way. No sound at all

what i did was open the hood, place the cable ,,the black to the ground on motor or body,, the red to the alt power line the other end of cable red to the pos and black the neg, of the battery.

YOU SHOULD PROVIDE THE YEAR MODEL AS THEY VARY ALL OVER THE BOARD AND YOU WILL GET ALL MANNER OF MISINFORMATION UNLESS ZEROED IN ON THE PARTICULAR MODEL YEAR AND SPECIFIC MODEL OF MB

2005 sl65 amg,,,,i cant open with remote nor manual key. Ive tried the door at 90 degree key rotation right and left,,,also trunk with key rotation,,,cant open,,,im thinking of calling windshield guy to remove and replace the same windshield while i crawl in that way,,,any help is appreciated,,,bill45colt@yahoo.com

Mercedes-Benz provides "Roadside Assistance" to anyone who owns an MB and they will come to location of car and assist you @ #800-367-6372 (800-FOR-MERCedes). They are regular MB technicians NOT AAA or some such that know nothing. They know every trick to an MB and they have phone back-up techs knowledge available to them. The SL63 is the same car an SL550 in this problem. There is a way to open the car with a battery jump starter but I don't recall the details of how to open the hood/engine compt. THC
