Engine and drive train behavior

I just purchased a 2019 Grand Caravan.  Brand new, no miles.  3.6 liter award winning Pentastar engine.  I've owned it for one month and have experienced the following. Item 1. This 6 speed auto transmission constantly shifts of hunts around it find a common running speed with the engine.  Seems to labor to get up on hills, even on the interstate for a 3.6 liter engine.  Item 2. The engine temperature gauge registers on the half way point or in the middle even in this cold climate I live in.  The car now has 1,100 miles on it.  Beyond recommended break in.  Question?  Is this the normal operating condition and behaver of this particular 3.6 liter with it's 6 speed transmission?

I would have a talk with your Dodge dealer. Most likely they will claim it is normal but a hunting transmission is a pain in the arse. If you can turn off the OD it may help. Be sure and turn it back on when out on the highway.

Does the transmission have settings for Eco, sport etc? Try different settings but sport might reduce this issue.

I did talk with my dealer and that’s exactly what they said. I blame myself for buying this car as I failed to do more research before the purchase than after. Even the reviews on certain websites about this vehicle note the transmission trying to find the best suited driving conditions, but it seems to me it’s overworking to find it’s sweet spot when driving up and down hills and where I live there’s always a hill to climb. I did turned on the Eco switch this AM. But too early to tell. Thank you for your reply
