First things first, check for spark at all 8 cylinders should have a good strong blue spark. Check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge. Shrader value is located on the fuel line behind injector plug driver side. Forward of the distributor. Fuel pressure for these engines has to be 55psi or better 60 to 62 is best. Also check distributor cap, they or notorious for cracks inside the caps. Look for discoloration, white spots or burnt Mark's. If you have spark all the way to the distributor, and nothing to plugs, the rotor cap could be your issue.

Dealt with this same problem but with more then just the truck. It turned out to be the ecu. Replaced the computer and that problem went away. And don't worry you can get it for 200.00 and up , but thats with programming. Their is a couple of companys that all you have to do is give them the vin and they can program it for you. I had to do it for 1 chevy truck and 2 pontiacs and all 3 was under 300.00

Do you happen to know if i take the knock sensor out of my pcm/ ecu and put it in another one will it work?

Also i do not have any of the p0600- p0610 codes on the obd is it possible for pcm/ ecu to still be the issue?
