Hi Vinnie! I couldn't find production numbers for that combination. Maybe if we narrowed it down to a specific year that would help. In the meantime here's a link to a muscle car club that keeps track of 427s pretty closely. Maybe they can shed some light. Good luck! http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/chevrolet-impala/chevrolet-impala-history-1.shtml

Actually the 1966 Caprice did have a 427 engine. I know because my neighbor owned one. He passed in 1999 and his wife sold his car collection.

I owned a 67 Caprice SS, 427/ 390hp, 4 speed, 12 bolt posi, console, buckets, dash tach, Hurst shifter. Made in Canada. Had a door tag “product of Canada”. Can’t imagine there were too many. Had the car 3 years, had 5 accidents, 3 of them the car was sitting still when I got hit, none my fault. Sold it to a guy that fixed it up and totaled it in less than a year.

I saw one with a 427/425 in 1966 at Franklin Chevrolet Deanship in Winchesster, TN. Red with black interior. I was 16 years old, I thought it was the coolest thing around.
