My my 98 Ford Explorer just stopped in the middle of the road it's cracked up but it cut back off

It sounds like a fuel filter problem. I'm not sure where the fuel filter is in a 2002.but on my 1995 it's under the car, under the drivers seat area. Good luck my friend I hope its this easy. Morgan rr
