1997 chevy tahoe lt issue with reverse

Asked by Jonathan Nov 14, 2020 at 03:01 PM about the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got a 1997 chevy tahoe LT that reverse is really weak it will
somewhat creep backwards and pushing the gas peddle
dose not help (acts like its in neutral) but if you put it in 4wd
low it will back up but sometime have a clanking sound.
I had it on jack stands and the tire ran in reverse fine, but in
neutral the tires would start spinning fowards from a stop

Thank for a quick reply I had just gone through and drove it around a bit and ran it in reverse a bit down the road and it is running better but it is weird in 2wd were some time putting it in drive and letting off the brake the drive shaft wont spin but once you add gas you can drive so I might need to try adding a cleaner in the transmission
