my audi has developed a strange ticking on start up, it stops after about 10-15 seconds, and also my oil light with the bell ringing noise came on the other day, help me please, ive been told it could be the cam chain tensioner or oil pump going

I would agree with either of those diagnoses. The only way to narrow it down is to have an oil pressure test done by a mechanic, to see if the pump is putting out proper PSI. It could also be a sticking valve but I'd start with the oil pressure test.
Hum, ticking on start. Do this check. Go and turn the key to ON but do not start the engine. You should hear the electric fuel pump go one for a few seconds. If that is not the source of the problem it might be the starter not releasing once the engine fires up. Then again, it could be something else. As far as the oil light being ON this is serious and you should not run the motor without proper diagnosis of the issue. Low oil pressure can ruin your engine or cause premature wear. Get this checked out today!! This might solve the ringing noise you mention. Your car needs a mechanic. Go. Good luck.
