Can anyone tell me what is the widest wheel and tire combimation that will fit in the stock fenders of a 1st gen Mazda3 sedan?

well i had p255 R16lt's on the back of my mazda. I used a ford explore rim and a light truck tire and it tore the tire to shreds after about 10 bumps going less than 5 mph so i would stick with nothing past 27"s.

tirerack.com has a really good tire selection. 205 55 R16 or 205 50 R17. Nothing under a 16'' will fit over the huge rotors.

i put 18's on my car they are 7.5 in wide the stock tires are only 6.5" wide fits perfect any wider and you are close to rubbing when turning. 215/45/r18

the wheels are of 15 by 6 inches and it should have P195/65R H all season tires. http://mazda-3.org/pictures-gallery/
