Nissan Juke heater smell

Asked by Haze70 Jan 06, 2019 at 03:11 AM about the Nissan Juke

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi my 60 plate juke suddenly started
to give off a burning smell which I
think is coming via the heater. I had it
checked over at the garage who
couldn’t find anything obvious but
could detect the smell. Does anyone
have any ideas please?

Some Nissans have a defect that allows foreign objects, such as leaves and rodents, to enter the heating/AC duct work of the car. The larger objects, such as rodents, will cause a noise or vibration when they get to the squirrel cage fan area. Leaves will just cause a burning smell caused by the friction of the leaves against the squirrel cage fan. Of course, Nissan offers no modification kit to impede the entering of foreign objects. Just be glad you did not get rodents in there.
