Hood latch broken how can I pop the hood open on
a 1998 Chevrolet GMC sierra 1500 sle short bed  
truck

Where is it brokenat the handle ? Pop the kick panel off you'll see the broken end of the cable grab it with needle nose pliers and pull ...hood is open ...if it has broken at the latch it's a little more difficult. Thru the grill you can barely see the latch ,if I can't get the grill insert out I use a long slender screwdriver and sneak it in to the latch release hit it the handle.end with my palm and after I fail a few times I get it just right and Bam hood open . (PHEW) .. lol Goodluck
