why car says stop safely now?

my car is at about 100k km i bought few years ago
and yesterday i was driving and randomly said stop
safely now and went into battery mode (i have a
ford escape hybrid) this happened to me about half
a year ago for first time so i knew i had to stop the
car turn it off and restart it. it then worked fine and
drove off normally .. anyone know what this might
be?

Have the car scanned for trouble codes. I would be looking for an experienced hybrid mechanic.
