It is the correct monogram for the name "Grand Le Mans", in the tradition of monograms. Why is it "GML" then, you ask, and not "GLM"? M is the "last name" so it goes large, in the middle. "Grand" and "Le" are the first and middle names, so they go small to the left and right. Its silly, but hey, it was the 70's.
