1964 Pontiac grand prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1964 Pontiac grand prix 389. I believe i have a 700R4 auto trans too.
The only # i see on the trans is 8642547-4. It has a Delco Remy 1998439 starter
that heats up a lot and turns over a little slow.  I'm looking to replace it. I did
purchase a Wosp #LMS909. They said it would fit but, it bolted 90° different
than mine. What should I get or should I ask, can I get lol?

Well.... Since the last time on here I went to my local NAPA auto parts store with my starter. They went year by year until a 1969 Pontiac starter looked indentical to mine. I put it in and it works great. Very tight fitting so I am still looking for a mini high torque one if anyone knows what will fit.
