You can super-charge a go-cart if you have the funds (super-charge is not Turbo-charge). There are some dangers super-charging with a kit ''' to be more precise .. a cheapo kit from Ebay (less then $600). Most do not work and to get good feedback Goggle "turbo charge complaints" The answer to your question is YES but be qualified and be careful

I always ask the same question when someone proposes a project like this. Why try to build something you can simply go out and buy? Supercharged SSs, while not plentiful, are out there. They use the 2.0 LSJ engine with supercharger already installed and backed by gazillions of dollars worth of engineering. They go like crazy right out of the box and can go faster still with a stage 2 or stage 3 upgrade. Of course they only come in a 2 door configuration, so that may not work for you if your needs are for a four door. Just some things to think about before embarking on a crazy expensive project like the one you are contemplating.

The factory version of what you want to do, using the 2.0 LSJ engine specifically engineered for a supercharger application came from the factory rated at 205. Using the less powerful 2.2 I would think you will have around 180.
