Belt replacement. 4.0L 1987 Cherokee.

Loosened p/s on top and bottom, won't move more than 1/8" inch.  I give up, what are the magic words needed

Whomever is the designer on these needs his neck wrung!

i know there is a belt tensioner on the newer 4.0s. (ive got a 99 wj) im not sure about the older ones. but the tensioner is just a spring loaded pulley, to move it all you need is a 1/2 inch drive socket. it will fit right in. when released the belt should be very looses. hope it helps. best of luck
