Dropped gas tank, replaced all hoses. Now truck won't start. New carb and
filter, good gas supply. New coil. ICM, starter relay, voltage regulator and still
a no start. We put gas in the old carb before dropping gas tank and it ran. No
idea right now. This is a 1985 100 custom (W100) mostly not found in parts
books so I have to go to 1986

primed..pressures....try and start it on a battery charger...
I have the pigtail. Just haven't tried putting that in. Was hoping not to have to pull the distributer. I have also charged the battery for 12 hrs and have no lack of cranking power.
Computer on my 1986 318 b150 is tossing shorts...only two wires out of voltage regulator I cut off from computer, wired into alternator and coil spliced to battery hot. Cut 2 wires from distributor, put in a GM ignition module between coil and distributor and then ran its own hot from the battery and added a push pull switch for fire to hot battery... grounded the alternator and the GM module. Runs but now getting 12 feet per gallon of gas... yes that's right... 12 feet per gallon. Need a Holley 2 barrel to be replaced or rebuilt... backfires like heck, timing set at 7 before TDC. Oh... the van set for 12 years, was 90 degrees out of time (more than 1.5 inches of play in timing chain)... so I replaced the timing chain. (Was spot on TDC when put back together and it fired up for the first time in 12 years... 107,xxx original miles. New oil with a complete flush... new antifreeze with a complete flush, new coil, new roter, new cap, new magnet pick-up, new plug wires, new plugs... bought it for $250. I got $288.00 out of my pocket into it with a new water pump as well...Dodge... Gremlins running rampant... same thing... threw a screwdriver hit the spare tire laying in the back, bounced up and shattered the rear window... another $100 shot to heck. Main issue... rats loved eating the wiring harness and moved into the heater core after chewing the hoses...and I blew one out of the tailpipe when it cranked up...You shoulda seen that rats face after getting tossed 20 feet on a backfire... chased him in the yard for 15 minutes trying to put out the fires he was causing...(High fire Danger area..Fire Marshall Bill has been a pain in the ....)
My timing chain turned out to be bad also. The ignition switch was also causing problems and had to replace that. Then since I replaced the distributor, ICU, voltage reg, couple of solenoids it was running but after about 5 miles it would start acting like the carb was bad by cutting off then coming back on. It has a new fuel pump and filter and carb. It turned out to be the sending unit in the fuel tank. I have owned this since new and it is the first time other than fuel pump and carb have I done any of this. So I guess not too bad just frustrating trying to pinpoint the problem. The dist. when I took it out had a gap twice the size on one side than the other. Heads also done, water pump and radiator. Good to go again.
Got the carb at Guaranteed Carbs over by Tampa, they have the gaskets for the unleaded fuel and give a lifetime warrantee. Also a good rep from all the shops in the Daytona Beach area.
did you prim the gas the older dodges don't have fuel pumps, and did you change the fuel filter while you were at it?
