Water and electronics don't mix well. Best to let it set out in the warm sun for a day or two to dry it all out. I learned the hard way to about pressure washing under the hood. Took me several days to figure out just what components were damaged by the water. Now I use tire shine and a micro fiber cloth to keep my engines looking new. Spray the tire shine on the rag then wipe everything down. Been doing it this way for about fifteen years now with no issues.
Back in the seventies or old school muscle car engines can be cleaned with water due to no electronic components. Those engines only require about four wires to make them run. But today's cars take hundreds of wires and connections for them to run.
Might want to unhook your battery till it drys out some to reduce the risks of components shorting out.
