Gas switch won't work

Is there another was to get gas door open?

If you can get to the cable end, try pulling on it with a pair of pliers. Or you could try a big screwdriver and a lot of muscle as a last resort.

just slide a piece of leather in with the screw driver to keep it from damageing the paint

There is a panel in the trunk that you can remove and access the cable there.
