I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander 4 cylinder. Engine light TRAC OFF,VSC TRAC .Car surged ,lost power 20mph Shop exchanged the ECU. 2 months later, same problem. Pls help provide solution

Believe it or not the most common reason is a loose or bad seal on the gas cap. Make sure gas cap is tight. Check the rubber seal. If gas cap is not the issue, make sure you have plenty of oil and your battery cables are also tight. Others have posted that those have also caused the CEL to illuminate. Other than that, you will have to drive it to an Autozone or the dealer and see what error codes are present.

Did you recently have an oil change? I've had VSC trac light problem twice and both times it was because the guys a Jiffy Lube forgot to reattach a hose after pulling out the air filter. Re-attach hose and light should go off.
