Dear Marwitz-- The 1981 Chevrolet Monte Carlo did not feature those normal Chevrolet designations such as SS, RS and LS. Instead, you could get a Monte Carlo Sport or a Monte Carlo Landau. Ss was super sport for the power and then ls was the luxury sport for the nice smuth ride Then at last you got rs witch was a limited edition Monte first made in the 2000’s
