Did 1972 Bel Airs share the same body panels as !972 Impalas?

Asked by 19belair72 May 10, 2012 at 08:44 PM about the 1972 Chevrolet Bel Air

Question type: General

I have a 1972 bel air and i'm having no luck at all finding rear quarter panels for it. Mine are rusted
out and I'm told it would be cheaper to buy new quarters and get them installed then have them
made. I started looking at Impala panels from the same year and noticed they were identical. I was
wondering if any knows if I could replace my Bel Air quarters with Impala quarters and if I would run
into any problems ?
Thanks !!

Yes they are the same as long as you buy them off the same body style. If you have a sedan buy sedan panels. Etc major difference is the 4 door impalas don't have pillars between the doors. You are the only other person I know of that owns that year. How many miles, motor?
