Intermittent groaning sound when accelerating

This 2007 Chevrolet Impala with a 3.9L engine, makes an intermittent groaning sound when accelerating. The dealer finally had the regional GM engineer ride with him. He says that this occurs when the car shifts from 3 to 6 cylinders (a fuel saving measure) and nothing can be done about it. Other than that, this is a wonderful car.

Sounds like he is telling you the truth. It could just be the switchover from 3-6 cylinders. I would give it time and see if it becomes less noticeable.
Speed sensor just change the hub assembly its in your hub assembly and I get mine off rockauto there only like 30$ or u can go to AutoZone and its about 100$+ there depends on how long you wanna wait A few days or Now at AutoZone
Does it do it when you first move from a stop light or a stop sign sometimes in reverse u might not notice it in reverse like you do in drive
Or If its kinda grinding vibrate try tightening up your transmission pan if the gasket is made of corky material those some how have a way of vibrating loose
