The 1973 Chevelle SS featured both a 350 and 454 engine. A good website for a brief overview of the Chevelle is http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/chevrolet-chevelle/chevrolet-chevelle-history.shtml

Yes, they certainly did! I remember test driving one but it had bucket seats and my wife didn't want the buckets. It was definitely a 350
yes, not only did they produce chevelles in 1973 with 350s as well as 454s, they also produce 1973 chevelle SS wagons, also with 454s.
I now have my 2ed 1973 chevelle ss both with a 350. the new one I bought in 1973 had a bench seat.Which I don't have any more.
tthey also had the 396's and if you were lucky you could find one with a 400cuin
I have an all numbers matching 73 SS 454, but the 350 was the most common engine.
I have 2 1973 Chevelle SS's. One is a Laguna with a 350 engine, bench seats, and auto tranny. The other is a the Malibu Deluxe with a 350, 4-speed, swivel bucket seats and wood-grained interior. Both need restoring. Anyone looking to buy?
Where are you located? I own a 73 SS Malibu Deluxe with the 454 but am looking for another, Do you have any pucture of the cars?
THIS HAS GOT TO BE A TRICK QUESTION FROM AN OLD STREET MAN! BACK THEN CHEVY WOULD YEAH AT THE FACTORY DROP ANY DRIVE TRAIN FROM ENGINE TO REAREND GEARS YOU ASKED FOR INTO ANY BODY TYPE YOU WANTED THEM IN LIKE 427 L- 88 IN A MALIBU!!BACK THEN CHEVY WAS ALL ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. ANYTHING YOU WANTED THE CUSTOMER WAS ALWAYS RIGHT!
They quit making Chevelles in 1972
Actually... Chevelles were produced through 1977.. Last Year for the Chevelle SS was 1973..
no they did not. I have a 73 Chevelle Malibu that i've rebuildt.
I own a 1973 Malibu black belt Chevelle super sport .350 engine, bucket seats, white with black vinyl top. Their were not many made. From California.
New to the board but in 1973 you could get a 350 or 454 in a 1973 Chevelle. To my knowledge there was no 396 or 400 available in 1973 due to the Arab oil embargo and the cutting of horsepower because of emissions. I currently own one I purchased a few years ago with now 41,000 original miles. I also owned two- 1 454 SS & 4 350. When I purchased this car it still had the original tires, belts, & hoses but had been in a barn for over 20 years. If anyone knows of an instrument cluster for a "73" SS, I would like to have one. Please email me at Lkey50@email.phoenix.edu or call 615-542-8606 and ask for Blue.

Hey! I've got a 73, 30 over 350 w/ a four speed (not original) I'd like to sell. Bench seat, 390 gears, a small bit of cancer @ back window, but still a good start for somebody, i'm @ 209 267 9853
I had a 350 in mine. Loved it!!
Not only did they produce the 350 and 454 (LS4) SS models, but you could even get an SS Station Wagon (very collectible), and you could also drop the LS4 into a Malibu, or Laguna or any other model. The LS4 was, by the way, the same 454 used in the Corvette in 1973. I used to own a 1973 Dk Green 4 Door Malibu Classic with a Colonnade Top and a 454. Loved that car.
Yes I owned one of them it was silver and dark grey stripes I so loved that car.
I have a 1973 chevelle ss 350 with the two tone Malibu interior bench seat, was that common? It also has the column shifter?
We think it might be a 350 or a 454? What does it look like?
