Question type: Car Customization

My bonneville has a speed govner that only limits the car to 110 mph. Is there any way it can be removed or changed. I don't plan n going any faster, I'm just curious.

i think its like the japs limit their cars by law to 112mph. but a simple uprated ecu would sort that out an remove it

OBD II programmer, to buy youll spend between 80-300 usd (my estimate). Here is an article about the process: http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/0508ch_program_obd_ii_powertrain_module/index.html

if you do that, put on higher speed rated tires as well (v or z rated). If you don't, you will probably have a blowout, and at that speed they will be picking you up in a garbage bag. That is why the factory limits it to that speed, that is all the tires are safe up to.
