Question type: General

I want to put a new stereo in my
2003 pontiac sunfire I was told
without having a code for the
theftlock audio system I wouldn't be
able to. I bought the car from
someone else so they didn't have a
code either so my question is does
my 2003 gunfire have theftlock

I put a new Sony deck in my 2001 sunfire, had no issues other than you will lose the door alarm and lights on alarm, the noise ya hear when ya open the door or leave the lights on. Had no other issues other than that. Theft lock usually may give a issue if someone tries to install the stereo into another car, had issues with Delco systems where without the Theftlock code the stereo would not work in another vehicle. The code can be easily found on youtube ;)

Go to a GM dealer with your VIN and proof of ownership and they should be able to give you the code.
