Question type: Maintenance & Repair

in the winter time truck only blows relatively cold air.  if I drive it for 10 mins will start to kick out enough heat to defrost windshield, but not enough to warm truck.  in summer  time truck will overheat if driving slow or in town.  temperature gauge goes go up and down all year long.  it never did this is past, always remained steady

I would replace the thermostat and hoses and flush the radiator and install new coolant. You also need to purge the air out of the system by parking the truck facing up hill and letting it idle with the radiator cap off and the heater on. Top off the coolant after it fully warms up. Don't take the cap off if the engine is hot! Also check the fan belt and cooling fan.
