where is the computer module that the keyless door lock code would be taped to it? Thanks.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Owner's guide says it would be taped to the computer module.  I can't find it anywhere and am just curious what the code is.  Just in case we needed it. The original owner is pretty old now and suffers from some memory loss and couldn't remember.  Thanks.

go to a Merc dealer, prove you own the car, and they will run the VIN and get you the code.

Yes, these lock modules typically have the keycodes long gone after almost 10 years. :)

Just pulled my door panel on driver side, black box with codes on it, just under speaker. Easy to read, out of the weather. 2001 mercury GM

Pull 4 screws ( 1 visible on left about center, 2 behind rubber inserts on upper door pull, 1 under the switch panel after you unsnap it and lift it out) and then pull the whole panel straight up about 1 inch and then out. The code is on the module in the lower right area, and the sticker is on the lower right area of the module. The code is just above the bar codes.

Wish it had been on the hinge of the 2004. Husband won't look under the door panel. Dealership won't help us get the code, Tom Boland. Guess we just won't have it. Thanks, always good to find a discussion on the net. Bren

Is it possible to add remote control access to a 2006 Grand Marquis that didn't come with it but has power locks and windows?
