Engine won't turn over in Licoln Town Car 1994

Asked by Anneselma Mar 01, 2017 at 02:37 AM about the 1994 Lincoln Town Car

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The night before I drove to work and my car was
fine until I started to break and then I lost power
steering and gas and brake stopped. Waited a few
minutes and turned my car on again and it ran.
Tonight I drove to work again and halfway on the
interstate my very faint rattling noise turned real
loud so I pulled over and tried the same thing and
it's not turning over at all while making the loudest
rattling I've ever heard. Everything turns on but
engine just won't turn over.

Sounds like a bad alternator or could be some bad idler pulleys along with the belt tensioner. Battery is low on charge, battery would need to be charged up to see if it any good. Never the less the charging system and all pulleys need to be looked at.
