Issue when trying to turn off a push to start car

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had this issue a couple times, I turn my car on in the driveway like
normal, then realize that i left something in the garage. To make sure the car
doesn't turn off, I leave the fob inside the car in the passenger seat and close
the door. After driving the car, I park and try to shut off the car like normal. A
message appears, "No remote detected. Press the brake to restart.". I try to
just press the brake, which does nothing until i also hit the push button to
start while holding the brake. Instead of trying to turn the car back on I tried
to get out of the car and lock the doors, which does nothing. I got back into
the car, restarted it, drove it around, then parked again and it worked fine.
Can someone explain why this is happening and what should be done?

I have no idea why. But I would just stop leaving the fob inside the car and take it with me.

This happens with my vehicle as well. Has nothing to do with leaving the fob in the car, at least not for me. It is very random. I read somewhere that the key fob may need to be reprogrammed. I haven't tried it yet, but plan to if this keeps up.
