There were several bad storms recently and massive flooding everywhere near where I lived. I own a 2017 Hyundai elantra and I am also missing my splash guard. I drove thru a few, semi-deep puddles...

I was driving my Hyundai Elantra and ran over a raised pothole. I immediately heard a loud bang. I drove a few more feet and the noise continued. It seemed to be coming from the left underhood/tire area. A chemical smell came in the vents and white smoke came out the hood. There were no puddles under the car however. Any ideas? 3 Answers
