Do you know if it is hidden under the black drip shield?

Not sure. I was surprised on how little information is available for your question, that's all I could find and have never done one myself..sorry

http://en.calameo.com/books/0026036963832e73cb3dd .Try that, claims to be a free repair manual download

Opps..when you get to the bottom line they want $12.99 BUT if it really is a full manual that's a good price https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/158306570-kia-sorento-2003-2009-oem-service-repair-manual

I have 06, should be the same, noticeable from passenger side underneath by wheel, it will have its own little cover plate that hide the majority of the solenoid part, held on by only 2 bolts to the front of transmission right by the exhaust piping that goes into engine block, you will need a 3/8 size breaker bar that's long 17in ok 14mm socket, and some penetrating oil that top bolt not nice with little room, jack car up from side.
