The local Ford dealer replaced the main computer brain and another censor. It finally stopped shutting of the console. It was a struggle to get the problem taken care of though.

Hey. Might you know which sensor they replaced? Same car. Same issue.

Same car. Same problems. Am I looking at a hefty price? Can this be fixed on my own? And is taking it to a privately owned mechanic or the dealer better?

We had this issue... Center console screen and up work, everything below screen dead. Right side steering wheel HUD says 'Climate Control Temporarily Lost Communication'. Driver's side window controls and mirror controls for passenger side do not work. Passenger side window and door controls do not work. AC/Heat/no climate controls work. Radio cannot be turned off or adjusted on center console, only on steering wheel. computer upgrade did not fix it. replaced center console did not fix it. changed wiring harness per Ford recommendation. 10 months later same problem is back.

I have 2017 Fusion Titanium. Same problems. Center stack controls stop working. No ac, windows or anything. Aside from disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes every f*cking day nothing fixes it.

Y 2014 fusion has 63000 miles and this is the 3rd time since it has been cold my heater my radio and windows dont work my screen has gone black I froze my ass off today call ford and they said to un hook the battery cable and hook it back up to reboot it self they do t see anything wrong after awhile it starts up again my warranty just ran out dear public give me answer I just got the car paid off what do I do

I’m pretty sure it has something to do with instrument panel (IPC). I’ve bought an obd2 adapter and downloaded Forscan to my laptop. When I have the above mentioned issues I use the forscan to a reboot of the IPC and that fixes it immediately.

At dealer for 4th time in less than 2 years. They replaced wire harness twice and control panel once. 3 weeks ago Ford corporate said update software and reset system. This was after front windows were frozen because of frost and defrost not working - just a small safety hazard. Needless to say it went back less than 2 weeks later. Currently waiting on Ford to reply. We did call Ford directly and report issue and I have communicating with them on Twitter. Call FORD, hit them up on Social Media. They cannot ignore this problem. Only fix I personally found was disconnect battery for 30 minutes to reset system.

2016 Fusion back at dealer for 5th time (I lost count). Same problem. They replace wire harness twice and control panel once. 5 weeks ago Ford Corporate said reset system and update software. That worked for about 4 weeks. Waiting on Ford Corporate to reply. Last two times windows started to frost and visibility bad since defrost not working. Turning into safety issue at this point. Call Ford direct Ask for claim to be filed, I also posted on Twitter and communicating with Ford via Twitter. They have safety issue they cannot ignore. Winter coming where will you be when defrost fails you??

Only option I found and Ford dealer confirmed is to disconnect battery for 30 minutes to reset the system. Good luck.

2014 fusion console below touchscreen wouldn’t work, a/c, door controls, climate control temporarily could not connect message. Took it to local ford dealer, they found a loose ground wire on the communication system wiring inside the dash. Fixed everything. So far no other issues

Do you know what dealership? That way my crap dealership can contact them and find out what they did.

My 2014 has done this today air windows lock radio dosent work my husband unhooked battery for 30 minutes still doing the same thing HELP

We finally got our fixed after Ford engineers said change the wire harness of the console. They found the wire was pinched and when it got hot shorted out or grounded out.

2016 Fusion. Radio controls unavailable with radio still playing. Drivers door controls don’t work. Rear windows can’t be rolled down. Parking light in left mirror stays on all the time key on or not. AC doesn’t work. Right side door window control still works. Check engine light is on. Ten days before the dealer can get it in. Missouri in August. This sucks.

theres a wire that runs by the floor under the carpet hit the side of console by carpet and it will work that wiire is bad

this is happening to my car as well. However when I plug my phone charger into the front power plug under the center console, it will all come back on. It will stay on for a very short time blow the fuse and then back to everything being back off. Replace the fuse plug the charger back in and it works again. Does anyone know exactly which wire it is that is bad so that those of us that are having the same problem can try and fix this or get it fixed.

@Osufan3341 this might have been the dumbest idea but it worked for me !!!!! i suggest messing with the wires that run from the Drivers door to the center console.

the tech at the local ford dealership replaced the passenger side door module and CFIM and all issues went away.

Having the same issue. Screen/climate controls do not work. Passenger windows do not work. When they do come on once in a blue moon the windows do start working. Took it to ford dealer who quoted me 1k to replace FCIM. We replaced the FCIM and the issue still persists. They want another $160 to diagnose again. Crazy. Will look into replacing wiring harness next. Anyone else have suggestions?

Problem solved on my 2014 Fusion SE. Console, radio, heater/ac, and windows intermittently going out. On recent episode, I started pushing on carpet near middle console on drivers side as suggested by someone earlier, suddenly power was restored. So I removed the lower side paneling of console, pulled carpet over, and discovered a wiring harness with connector that had a bare wire exposed. I unplugged the connector and the power was lost to same components, confirming cause. It looked like this wire was spliced into the harness/connector as an afterthought. There was some electrical tape falling off revealing the bare wire. My car has not been modified, so this had to have been done by manufacturer. I released this wires' pin from the harness connector, secured and added heat shrink for insulation and reinstalled. Have not had any issues since.

Joshua, or anyone, can you please upload pictures of harness location, details om wire (color, pin location). My research has yielded massive amounts of users experiencing this same issue. However it seems some resolve it but forget about the others. Pictures, vids, any details help. This should be a lawsuit against ford by now for selling defective and unsafe product.

Resolved!!!! What Josha is correct under the driver seat in the middle there is an electronic box. Struck my hand under the carpet & wiggled the box & wire around resolved it. Im sure it will come back at some point. My issues were no driver-side windows front & rear from driver controller. No radio, Climate controller, No LCD, No Volume basically the whole center controller system did not work no buttons.

I have been fighting this issue for 4 years now, not resolved. All the same symtoms, Radio, AC, Heat, Windows, Door Locks and much more all go dead at once. disconnect the battery will fire it back up. Disconnect some of the connetors at the BCM and it all comes back. Ground under the driver seat front, actually there are two held down by 8mm bolts. Loosen either of those and you hear the system kick back on. Have chased all wires and grounds best I can and it has still come back. I am currently waiting for parts to replace the Radio, many Can Bus wires go to the radio, replacing the Radio face plate because Ford worked on it an now I no longer have Heated seats or a rear window defogger. Once I change out the Radio I will try and report back. In california we deal with heat more than cold, it likes to fail when it is 100* outside, no AC and Can't open windows is dangerou

I should have mentioned, Fusion is an SE, 2015, 29,000 miles, problem started 4 years ago when the car only had 16,000 miles I believe. It was about a month out of Fords warranty, I don't remember if that was 4 or 5 years warranty but I was a month out. Ford refused any help. I actually thought it was fixed, I cleaned the BCM connections and the problem went away for 7 months, I sold the car and a month later it came back on the new owner, he was not happy so he kept calling me, I bought it back and I am now once again trying to fix it. He took it to Ford and they said they did not have time to try and fix it. Another shop worked on it also and one of these damaged the Heated Seats and Rear Defrost, they wont work at all anymore. The big problem is the AC and all other devices suddenly shutting off in the heat of summer.

2017 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium. Joshua and Kevin, THANK YOU! I would randomly have this same isue where the Climate Control would not respong, I get a check engine light and the passenger windows would not work if someone other than myself drove the car. Now it makes total sense that the non-standard seating position was stressing the wires. I disconnected the 6 connectors under the drivers seat for 15 mintues, reconnected and BINGO!
