Jeep Liberty 2004: what does "test35" mean? It occasionally shows up right above the odometer.

It should have a P or C in front of the code! Pxxxx or Cxxxx Did you try the following code procedure", Put key in turn it on, to just before it starts, then off, then on, then off, then on. three time real fast. on, off,on,off,on,off,then leave ON. the code will come on where the odometer reading is. hope this helps
